"Wimbledon on the Sea"

Today's warm up game was one which had us laughing the whole time, but at the same time was quite interesting. The students had to complete the sentence “If I were president, I would ….”. This was fun because every one explained out loud what she/he would do if she/he would be the president. Some of them said they would improve the life of Zanzibar by rising up the salaries of workers, especially doctors and teachers, building the industries, providing scholarships for students to study abroad and much more. Some students talked about drilling for petroleum, because as you may or may not know, Zanzibar has a lot of petrol under the ground.

I personally think we should pray that it stays there, right where it is, under the ground, because it would mean a potential environmental hazard for all. Let's not think about this untill it's time to do so.

Salama and Mbarak had their own thought: they would improve the internet services, build 6 football fields like Wimbledon on the sea (??), so that Tanzania would become the first country in Africa to operate the world cup championships, after south Africa... but these were just ideas, as they said afterwards.

Well, I think it's good to dream! And 'Wimbledon on the Sea' sounds funky enough, doesn't it :)

Then mbarak left an exercise to the students wherein they had to draw six pictures for a story board of a film. Then they had to exchange their story boards and another student had to write the story according to someone elses pictures. Then they presented their story and the designer of the story had to say if the story was correct or wrong (according to the pictures). Then the drawer of the pictures gave the intended story; we had great laughs...
