The preparation of the classroom for Al-riyamibits is almost finished. Soon it will feature to eight to ten modern computers, to be supplied by Zanzibits and the marthe van Rijswijck Foundation. As part of Al-riyamibits, the students of Al-riyami Academy will acquire basic computing skills such as using the internet, e-mail, Microsoft Office programs, and Photoshop. The course, initiated by Zanzibits, will last the length of the school year.
Al-riyamibits classes, taught by the Zanzibits trainers, will be held from 9:00am to 1:00pm, Monday to Thursday. The training will be free of charge for the Al-riyami Academy students. Each class will have a structured lesson plan, so that all form two and three students can receive a good computer education. As soon as the classroom is finished, Zanzibits will begin preparing lesson plans.
